Daiva Glazzard

Daiva Glazzard
Spiritual Director

Joining Ananda in 1982 and moving to Ananda Village (Ananda’s original community Ashram) in 1985, Daiva has over 20 years of personal experience in living the teachings of yoga philosophy through community and family life, business and work experience. Daiva was appointed as the Spiritual Director with his wife Ganga Mata of Ananda Portland by Nayaswami Kriyananda (the founder of Ananda) in 2004.
  • Actively teaching, lecturing, and ministering to a congregation & community of over 150 on
    yoga philosophy and the practical applications of that yoga philosophy to everyday life.
  • Regularly teaching and writing for the public on yoga philosophy and the practical applications of that yoga philosophy. An occasional guest for the religion column of the Portland
    metropolitan area newspaper, The Oregonian.
Ganga Mata Glazzard

Ganga Mata Glazzard
Spiritual Director

Lightbearer and member of Ananda since 1991, Ganga Mata is co-director of Ananda Portland. She has managed several of Ananda's businesses and has worked in the Ananda Village Community Services department. Ingrid has more recently served on Ananda's Expanding Light retreat staff as the manager of Guest Services and is a certified Ananda Yoga Teacher.

Having taught all levels of Ananda Yoga for the past 10 years and co-developed the Ananda Yoga Teacher Training program here in Portland, she also specializes in the following classes: Restorative Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, Extra Gentle Yoga.

Lorna Knox

Lorna Knox

Lorna Knox is an extraordinary teacher and has found ways to use her talents as a teacher outside of the conventional classroom. As a nurse and health educator for 15 years, she taught people about health issues, pregnancy and child care. She teaches Anatomy Classes for the Yoga Teachers Training course.

In her first book, I Came From Joy!, Helps children develop their inner awareness. The spiritual ideals presented apply to every part of our lives. In her newest book, Scary News, 12 Ways to Raise Joyful Children When the Headlines are Full of Fear, Teaches how to prepare our children for life in a scary world while protecting their hearts and minds and nurturing their natural inner joy.


Hanuman Baughman

Thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology, as seen through the eyes of a registered nurse and chiropractor, combined with 35 years practice of yoga and meditation in the tradition of Paramhansa Yogananda, gives Hanuman a unique and powerful perspective as a teacher's teacher.

 

Ananda yoga is a combination of yoga postures (asanas) with a deep attunement to the underlying energy of the body, mind, and soul.
