As I consider myself to be comprised of a body, mind, and spirit I greatly appreciate David's attention to all of these aspects in class. His deep knowledge and practice of yoga is brought together for a truly fulfilling experience. I have learned that the practice of yoga is ever deep, and that there is much to be gained for all aspects of our human lives." - T.J. W. Portland, OR

Your yoga classes are wonderful. I don't know what I would do without them. The extra gentle class is perfect for me, because of my problems with diabetes. Sometimes I can't do a lot of the postures, so I just imagine doing them, but regardless, I always come out of your class feeling like a new person. I can tell when I've skipped a class, because my body gets this icky sleepy feeling like my blood isn't moving and my muscles don't want to work. When I was going to your classes only once a week, I would have that feeling for about the last 3 days of the week. That's why I like to go Monday and Friday, because it keeps me from getting that way, and so I have more energy and ease for the whole week. I love your gentle spiritual guidance during the classes. It's easy to stay concentrated on one's Higher Self during class, and with sustained concentration on positive things, the classes end up feeling like a great meditation. In theory, I could do the postures at home because I know them, but somehow I never do. There seems to be a great energy added to mine when I'm in the class, and that energy helps me through the sometimes-difficult job of moving this body! Thank you for teaching yoga. I wish I could tell everyone "Just try it." Because maybe it wouldn't be for everyone, but I know a whole lot of people would be very grateful to experience what you offer. - Alice L. Palo Alto, CA

David is a great Yoga teacher and an enchanting person to be with. I did not realize until I took an intro class for meditation that David is incorporating meditation techniques in the Extra Gentle Yoga class. I look forward to my weekly yoga class. He has a message in each class that he talks briefly about. He establishes the reason why this message is important. I ponder on this message the rest of the week and implement it in my daily life. This has helped me at work and at home. I feel that the Yoga class has been the driving factor for changing my work situation for the better. It has taught me that I am in control of how I react to certain situations and that I ought to take care of myself in order to be a balanced individual. I recommend his class very highly to all. - Geeta,  Portland OR

The gentle way you led the postures helped me to go deeper inside, the gentler the asana, the deeper I experienced my own inner self. It gave me time to relax and feel the flow of energy and that fills me with inner joy - Stephanie - Nevada City CA

A wonderful opportunity to slow down and rest comforted by a teacher and a friend" - Henry  W.- San Diego CA

Extra-gentle yoga is remarkably useable, not just for older or less mobile persons, but for people like me, sometimes a bit stiff or simply needing simple postures that can be done in an office chair."- Eric - Nevada City CA

The sadhanas (yoga/meditation classes) were outstanding! They were very high energy, yet calm and heart-opening as well. - Danny  W. Nevada City CA

Dear David, Thank you for an excellent Extra Gentle Yoga Class at Tigard Senior Center. It is energizing, relaxing, and great for the body and mind. - Sheila and Davie D. Hillsboro OR

What I like most about your classes is the inspirational messages throughout, yoga. You bring the philosophy alive. Of course what I remember from you the most and always, is telling me to return to center no matter what. David guides his students in keeping to their center. I really like the way you do the moon pose saying something like, as the sun reflects on the moon, so do we reflect the divine David's gentle approach to centeredness, reminds his students of their true essence, or something as easy and simple and true. I always feel recharged and refreshed after a class with David. - Corinne - Portland OR

I am so glad that David has taken the time to make his gentle and caring yoga style available on the internet. I have had the pleasure of being a student of Davids, and note that the web site expresses the same care and attention that he does in class. Be sure to look around through all the pages as there are many treasures to be found throughout. - George  L.- Toronto Canada

I have always had a difficult time learning new physical things. Sports, dancing, whatever. Not that I cannot learn or eventually excel in a certain activity. The problem is I need to start a level 0, where I can build a foundation for the skills to come. But most things start at level 1 with the assumption that you already know certain skills. Like being told to play softball in high school PE when you've never learned to catch! That's why I was thrilled when I started David's extra gentle yoga class. He doesn't assume you know anything, but carefully helps you build from the ground floor. He pulls back on the reins of expectation and blind accomplishment, and gets you to relax. With his emphasis on knowing your body and appreciating what it can do in the present moment, I feel competent in my body instead of depressingly inadequate. Thank You, David! - Katheryn - Portland OR

Sitting before a yoga class with David Ramsden, I was surprised when he called us beautiful, radiant beings of light. What surprised me even more was that something inside actually believed the truth of what he was saying. It had nothing to do with physical looks or body weight- it was as if an inner memory had been awakened. The process of awakening continued as David had us affirm during yoga postures thoughts of courage, love, strength, joy and freedom. The affirmations began to reverberate within my being, and I actually felt my heart expand and open to new thoughts and possibilities. His classes made me feel more awake and ready then I had in a long, long time. My interactions with David helped me to find the courage to follow my convictions and make some big changes in my life. It's been about a year since David moved out of the area that I live in, but I still remember his classes with fondness and gratefulness. Now that I've taken Ananda Yoga Teacher Training myself, I have the opportunity to share with others that we are not what we appear to be- we are beautiful, radiant beings of light! - Jackie S .Portland OR
